Tsonga knocks out Federer from wimbledon 2011



Quarterfinals:
 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (12) def Roger Federer (3) 3-6 6-7 6-4 6-4 6-4


Federer made a brilliant start in the opening set as he broke Tsonga early on in the second game and raced to 4-1 lead quickly. He kept the lead till the end to wrap the first set 6-3.

The second set was a tight affair as both players entertained the crowd with the highest quality of tennis. No breaks were exchanged in it and it went to the tie breaker. Tsonga, who was playing well till then went off the boil and quickly found himself 0-5 down in tie breaker. Federer made no mistakes from there and won the second set 7-6(3).

Tsonga applied himself with more tenacity in the third set and broke Federer for the first time in the match at 2-1. He managed to keep the break with himself till the end and converted on his fourth set point to take the third set 6-4 in his kitty.

Sachin WIshes Roger Federer




It was a meeting of legends and a rare photo op for all when Indian cricket maestro Sachin Tendulkar met tennis great Roger Federer at Wimbledon on Saturday.

The Indian legend, a regular at Wimbledon Championships every year, was seen sharing a few thoughts with the World No 2 during their brief meet on day 6 of the Wimbledon championships.

Tendulkar was earlier spotted in the Royal box on Centre Court as he witnessed the match between Australia's Jarmila Gajdosova and world No.1 Caroline Wozniacki. Tendulkar watched as the world No 1 effortlessly outclassed the Australian 6-3, 6-2 in their 3rd round encounter.
